The following After Action Report is from The Fusilier August 2021 edition.

At the end of June, I had the opportunity to serve with the men of the 23rd’s New York City detachment at Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Members included Paul Astle, Mike Miller, Justin and Kyle Parker, Dan Blander, Mike Dante-Laurino, and Ken and Mike Boyle. Crown Forces units included the 35th and 42nd Regiments of Foot. The 23rd served as the Crown’s main force in engagements with the Huntington Militia. The combined detachment performed well and routed the local militia throughout the weekend. Participants also held a ceremony to honor recently deceased members from our hobby, including Bob Small of the 42nd, who passed sway earlier this year. Justin worked with the 42nd to coordinate the logistical arrangements and deserves recognition for his efforts. The event was a great opportunity to get together and brush off the Covid-cobwebs.
