246th Battle of Camden & End of Campaign Dinner (2026)

November 6November 8

The Battle of Camden (August 16, 1780) was a decisive British victory in the American Revolutionary War, marking the worst American defeat, where inexperienced troops under General Horatio Gates were routed by Cornwallis’s regulars, resulting in massive American casualties (over 1,000 captured/killed) and the loss of supplies, though it ultimately led to General Nathaniel Greene taking command and shifting to more effective guerrilla tactics in the South.
