The Battle of White Plains, fought on October 28, 1776, was a pivotal engagement during the New York and New Jersey campaign of the American Revolutionary War. While technically a British tactical victory, it is often remembered for George Washington’s successful narrow escape, which kept the Continental Army—and the Revolution—alive.
Heralded as likely the last time a rev war event would be held at this historic location, an impressive number of British, Hessian and Continentals showed up for this semi-tactical; but, also public focused event.
